Announcing… a mini-festival in 2016!
Not able to keep ourselves away (during our so-called ‘rest’ year!)…the Castlemaine Children’s Literature Festival is back in 2016.
We are very pleased to announce a mini-Castlemaine Children’s Literature Festival coming your way in the Term 3 school holidays 2016. Five events will run from Tuesday 20 September to Friday 23 September (the first week of the school holidays). There will be workshops and activities, plus actor and author Stig Wemyss will perform live at the Phee Broadway Theatre.
The program is out now!
to all who participated in the 2015 Festival.
The CCLF held 21 different events in 9 different venues/locations, including Loddon and Middleton Prisons, Newstead and Maldon. 9 of these events were totally free! We worked in partnership with 18 different organisations, and employed 22 local writers/performers. And we shared the love with over 1000 children
There were so many highlights that it’s very hard just to capture a few here – but favourites included Story Saturday which exploded with tales, magic, music, origami, humour, Rocky the Reading Dog and workshops for kids, run by kids, as well as a Living Library and showcasing of the 3450@7(0) project.
A massive shout out to our funders and sponsors:
FOCAL, who have supported us from the beginning, Mount Alexander Shire Council, Maldon & District Community Bank, Cantwell Property Castlemaine, Cobs Popcorn and Lisa Chesters MP. We love your dedication to the local community, arts and children and for that, we salute you!
Thanks again for joining us – and watch this space for Festival updates and news….
